Inside Job - A Fascinating Documentary of the Global Financial Crisis
If you are into documentaries and have an interest in how the Global Financial Crisis was brought about, I highly recommend watching the movie "Inside Job." It highlights the fascinating linkage between the financial services industry, the U.S. government and academia and the criminal behavior of the largest financial institutions. It also does a good job of explaining the unregulated derivatives market in layman's terms, with simple graphics. I also liked how recent current events were incorporated into the story. I have read a few books on the crisis, including The Big Short and Too Big to Fail and I think this movie does a decent job of telling the story in all it's mind-numbing complexity. After watching this movie, I understand why some call them "banksters."
